Application Period Open for Graziado Global Program

The application period for the Graziado Global Program “Brazil” will open July 7, 2014. The one-week program will take place December 7 to December 13, 2014. Participants will discover the technology and manufacturing hub of Brazil, the largest country in Latin America with a world of opportunity for business.

The program will cost $3,595 for a single room accommodation and $3,095 for a shared room. Participants are required to find his or her own roommate for a shared room. The program fee includes lodging for six nights, breakfasts and some lunches, classroom sessions, speakers, company visits, government visits, cultural tours, or activities, transportation during the program week (including airfare transportation from Sao Paulo to Curitiba-roundtrip back to Sao Paulo.)

Students may take this course for credit. Classes will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students are also required to pay a Brazil Visa Fee of $185. Applications will be accepted until October 3, 2014. There will be a mandatory pre-departure meeting on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. Applications can be completed online.

Smith School Releases Annual Summer Reading List

Each year, faculty and administrators from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business puts out a list of their favorite books in the ” Top-10 Summer Reading List for Business Leaders” for 2014.

This is the 11th year of reading recommendations from the Smith School, so if you’re heading off to business school as an MBA or you are already climbing up the corporate ladder, these books will keep you up-to-date on current trends. Kellstadt Adds Evening Cohort MBA

The Evening Cohort MBA offered through the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business is the newest addition to DePaul’s roster of MBA options. This accelerated cohort experience offers those who are already working a structured class schedule and the opportunity to learn as a unit.

The Evening Cohort MBA is strategically planned around networking and building relationships. Candidates will take the same classes at the same time and graduating together. Stanford Researchers Receive $4.6 Million in Awards

A total of $4.6 million in awards was given to fourteen Stanford researchers, including one from the Graduate School of Business, who are addressing global poverty. The awards were given to the students from the university-wide Global Development and Poverty (GDP) initiative. Their projects, which are the first to be funded by the GDP, deal with challenges of health, violence, economics, governance and education in the developing world.
