Three Kellogg Alums Named to Forbes’ Midas List

While King Midas grew to loath his uncanny ability to turn everything he touched to gold, venture capitalists are honored if places them in their annual Midas List, a round-up of, in the magazine’s words, “The Best Venture Capitalists in the World.”

Three Kellogg School of Management alums were named to the 2014 Midas List. All three were honored for their work brokering deals in the exciting and competive tech sector.

The Three Kellogg Alumni Honored on Forbe’s 2014 Midas List are:

Jenny Lee ’01— A managing partner with GGV Capital, a venture cpital firm based in Shanghai, Jenny works on cross-border deals with her colleagues in the United States. Her current portfolio includes Yodo1, Chukong Technologies, China Talent Group, Gamespedia, Playpeli and Social Touch, according to Forbes. She is No. 52 on the list.

George Bischof ’94— Partner at Meritech Capital Partners, Forbes has credited Bischof with the successful IPO of security hardware firm Barracuda Networks and the rising valuation of IPO-bound business-collaboration service Box. He is No. 39 on the list.

Promod Haque ’83—Senior managing partner with Norwest Venture Partners. Acccording to Forbes, Hague has generated around $40 billion in exits in his more than 20 years as a venture capitalist. He earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from Northwestern in 1976 before returning to Evanston for a Kellogg MBA to reinforce his existing management skills. He has been named to the list 10 of the last 11 years. He is No. 27 on the 2014 list.
