Zicklin School of Business to Appoint New Dean

After a national search, Baruch College has announced its recommendation to the CUNY Board that Dr. H. Fenwick Huss be appointed as the Willem Kooyker Dean of the Zicklin School of Business. In conjunction with that appointment, Dr. Huss will also assume a faculty position in Baruch’s Stan Ross Department of Accountancy.

According to Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs David P. Christy, “Dr. Huss’s lifelong commitment to the field of accountancy and to urban, public education of the highest quality, make him the ideal candidate to lead the Zicklin School of Business”.

Dr. Huss has served as Dean of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University since 2004, where he previously had served as Associate Dean and before that as Director of the School of Accountancy.

H. Fenwick Huss earned his doctorate in accountancy at the University of Tennessee, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Huss also earned a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut.

At Georgia State, Dr. Huss enriched and expanded academic programs, launching the Global Partners MBA program, a full-time program in which students study on four continents (North America, South America, Europe and Asia). The program was recognized by the Aspen Institute as among the top 100 business schools worldwide for leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into the MBA curriculum. He also created the Executive Doctorate in Business program for senior level executives to advance the development and practice of effective organizational leadership and the Executive Master of Science programs in the Management of Information Technology, Marketing and Finance.

In addition to his leadership at Georgia State, Dr. Huss has long shown his leadership in global education. He has assisted universities in Russia, the Ukraine and Sub-Saharan Africa in restructuring their business programs. In addition, he served as director to the Robinson College’s USAID-funded development programs in South Africa, Ghana and Egypt. He has lectured extensively on the topic of business information needs in the People’s Republic of China.
