NJ Senator Booker to Host Summit at Rutgers
In a special partnership with the Rutgers Business School, US Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) will host the New Models to Improve Access to Capital Summit on Friday, June 13 in Newark. The summit will bring together CEOs and executives from market leaders in peer-to-peer lending and microfinance industries for a roundtable discussion. There they will discuss how new lending models improve efficiency, lower costs, and make capital more accessible to communities and small businesses cut off from credit after the financial crisis.
Senator Booker along with US Small Business Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet will lead the converation that aims to highlight new financing resources for small businesses and the incredible innovation occurring in these industries. The summit will also address key questions facing peer to peer lenders, whose explosive growth is disrupting traditional banks.
This is the fourth forum in a series of discussions designed to help small businesses, the New Model to Improve Access to Capital Summit will hone in on the needs of New Jersey small businesses. This is the first event moderated and led by Senator Booker.
Panelists include: David Nayor, CEO of BoeFly; Rob Frohwein, CEO of Kabbage; Noah Breslow, CEO of OnDeck; Rohit Arora, Co-founder and CEO of Biz2Credit; Paul Quintero, CEO of Accion East; Rohan Mathew, CEO of Intersect Fund; Jonny Price, Senior Director of Kiva Zip; Jeff Bogan, SVP of Lending Club; Steve Allocca, Global Head of Credit at PayPal; and Jay Savulich, Managing Director of Programs at Rising Tide Capital. Booker held his first forum on March 14 in Camden, his second on April 11 in New Brunswick and his third on May 16 in Newark.
