Lehigh Program Has First Year Success

The Philip Rauch Center for Business Communications (RCBC) Professional Development Program at the College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University had great success in its inaugural academic year. The program is designed to help prepare students to communicate effectively, interact professionally, and develop leadership skills for today’s challenging business environment.

RCBC Professional Development Program prepares students to communicate effectively, interact professionally with both internal and external audience, and develop leadership skills for today’s challenging global business environment.

The Program included a total of 22 events highlighting business communications, leadership, corporate culture, industry-specific topics as well as transitioning from college to career. Counting both semesters, more than 420 students participated in the program, which included hour-long workshops, panel discussions, Women in Business luncheons and the second annual International Business Day in New York City.

The success of the Professional Development Program is greatly due to the dedicated alumni who participated by donating their time and efforts.

College of Business and Economics faculty members Liuba Belkin (Assistant Professor, Department of Management) and Matt Melone (Professor, Perella Department of Finance and Law) contributed as presenters during the program as well as many other faculty and staff greatly aided in the success of the program.

The RCBC also organized an advisory council comprised of sophomore, junior and senior students who assisted in promoting, planning and enhancing the RCBC name and Professional Development Program.  Through their leadership and participation, the Advisory Council helped to advance the Program and enhance the student experience.

The RCBC Professional Development Program a great way to interact with alumni and learn from experienced professionals, improve networking skills and create that important professional network. All CBE, IBE and CSB students are automatically enrolled in the Professional Development Program.
