Rutgers Prof. Presented with Hall of Fame Award
Rutgers Business School professor Jerome Williams was presented with The PhD Project’s Marketing Doctoral Student Association Hall of Fame Award. The award is a prelude to an induction into The PhD Project’s Marketing Doctoral Student Association Hall of Fame.
Williams, is a distinguished professor of marketing and holds the endowed Prudential Chair in Business at Rutgers. He is also the research director for The Center of Urban Entrepreneurship and Economic Development at Rutgers Business School and serves as its PhD program director.
Williams has been involved with The PhD Project since its inception. He will be formally inducted into its Hall of Fame in November. The PhD Project’s Hall of Fame was established in 2011 to recognize individuals who have shown an unwavering commitment to The PhD Project’s mission and whose leadership has significantly impacted the network of minority business doctoral students and faculty that make up The Project’s network.
The mission of The PhD Project is to increase the diversity of Corporate America by increasing the diversity of business school professors. The announcement of the Hall of Fame Award came during The PhD Project Marketing Doctoral Student Association Conference in San Francisco on Aug. 1.
“You get a lot of awards that are helpful to yourself,” Williams said after receiving the award, “but this is meaningful to me because it’s about my efforts for helping others.”
