Since its creation in 2013, more than 600 individuals have attended this event (with over 200 attendees in 2015; 220 in 2014, and; 170 in 2013).

According to NIU, this year’s Social Impact Summit will continue to include a business plan competition, “Pitch with a CAUSE,” where entrants will present their ideas to a panel of experts for a chance to win startup funds. NIU’s Social Impact Summit is created entirely by NIU students in the university-wide student organization CAUSE:  Collegiate Association of Unreasonable Social Entrepreneurs.
