Are You a DePaul Undergrad Alum? The Double Demon Scholarship Is For You

Student in Library

Did you receive your undergraduate degree from DePaul University? If so, are you looking into returning to school to pursue a graduate degree? The Double Demon Scholarship, an academic award that allows DePaul University alumni to return to school and enjoy discounted tuition for a master’s degree or certificate program, applies to more than 100 programs across nine DePaul schools, including the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

The Double Demon Scholarship debuted in 2012 at DePaul’s computing and business colleges. The scholarship covers 25 percent of the tuition for a master’s degree or a select certificate program and applies to alumni who enroll as part-time or full-time students. And it’s easy: No separate application for the scholarship is needed as all DePaul alumni who are admitted into these programs automatically qualify.

“In addition to offering alumni a more economical way to obtain a graduate degree, the scholarship provides an opportunity for alumni to advance their skills,” Christa Hinton, assistant dean of Kellstadt, said in a news release on the school’s website. “The economic climate continues to change and people want to update their employability and skill sets. The Double Demon Scholarship is a path for people to come back and brush up on their knowledge base.”

Miriam Dybczak is one of the more than 500 DePaul alumni who have taken advantage of the Double Demon Scholarship. She decided to return to DePaul less than a year after earning her bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising in order to take advantage of the scholarship at Kellstadt.

“The Double Demon Scholarship was definitely an incentive to come back to school,” Dybczak said in a news release. “Aside from the benefits of getting an advanced degree from an established and respected school, it was a relief knowing that I wouldn’t have to take out any loans.”

The Double Demon scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with other DePaul scholarships, waivers or awards, or by university employees.
