Booth Announces University of Chicago China Forum

The Booth School of Business will host the University of Chicago China Forum 2017 on April 29-30 at Ida Noyes Hall on the campus of the university, the school has announced. The forum will cover topics ranging from economics and technology to investment management and entertainment.Founded in 2015, the Chicago China Forum aims to promote international collaboration in business and academia by inviting distinguished leaders worldwide to discuss contemporary global issues and share their rich experiences and unique insights.

The forum is run by Booth business students and will feature various entrepreneurs, scholars, senior government officials and senior executives from China and the United States. These leaders will discuss and debate the global opportunities and challenges facing both countries.

Speakers will include: Gao, Xiqing, Cheng Yu-Tung chair professor of law at Tsinghua University School of Law and former vice chairman, president and chief investment officer of China Investment Corporation; Qi, Bin, MBA ’97, executive vice president of China Investment Corporation (CIC) and Steven Strongin, AB ’79 AS ’82, head of the global investment research division at Goldman Sachs.

There forum will also feature nine different panel discussions featuring industry leaders in the industry. Panel discussions will cover:

  • Multinational Corporation Management
  • Private Equity
  • Investment Management
  • Technology
  • Venture Capital
  • Entertainment
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Law
