Join the UIC College of Business Administration for an information session about the study abroad programs offered by the UIC Liautaud Graduate School of Business. The session will be held on February 5, from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM in University Hall 1150.

What are some of the study abroad options MBAs have at UIC Liautaud?

Doing Business in Brazil is a two-week course in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the Fundacao Getulio Vargas, which considered as one of the top business schools in South America. This English-language course covers Brazilian and South American business issues, the political and social climate, national culture, consumer marketing and Mercosur. MBA students receive four elective credits for participating in the program. This summer’s program will take place in mid-May; final dates are pending.

“Doing Business in Brazil (DBB) provided me with valuable in-field experience with one of the fastest growing BRICS nations,” Alan Leon, MBA 2012, said to the Liautaud website. “The acquisition of my enhanced professional contacts, top 3 international business school education, and insight into Brazil’s rapid economic growth, vibrant history and welcoming culture, have given me powerful new answers and real-world examples for distinguishing myself from other qualified colleagues and job candidates.”

The school also offers a program in Europe. Know Europe is a four-week course, through the ESC Normandy. Study is organized in Brussels, Belgium; Haarlem, Amsterdam; Paris, Le Havre, and Caen, France; and Barcelona, Spain. Professors are drawn from Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The program includes meetings with local businesses, field visits to seats of European government, and presentations on major aspects of European administration and culture. MBA students receive six elective credits for participating in the program. This summer’s program will take place from June 2-28.

“Know Europe has given me confidence in my ability to analyze and determine an effective international marketing strategy,” said Adrienne Nadeau, MBA Alumna 2012, to the school’s website.

Studying abroad at Liautaud means receiving firsthand knowledge about foreign business systems and cultures, develop an understanding of another business and cultural environment, sharpen your global business and language skills, and open the door to future employment in the international market.
