Quinlan School of Business Earns Praise In New Part-Time Ranking
According to the newest MBA program rankings from U.S. News & World Report, the Quinlan School of Business‘s part-time MBA program has once again been ranked among the Chicago Metro’s top three programs.The 2018 U.S. News graduate programs rankings were released on March 14, 2017. In the ranking, Quinlan’s part-time MBA was ranked No. 57 out of 301 programs. Meanwhile, Quinlan’s Supply Chain master’s program was ranked No. 20 in the nation and Graduate Accounting program was ranked No. 28. The Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley topped this year’s part-time ranking.
The newest U.S. News ranking features information and rankings across six disciplines – business, law, engineering, education, medicine and nursing — to help prospective students identify programs that support their professional growth and career needs.
According to the publication, the six graduate disciplines ranked are evaluated on factors such as employment rates and starting salaries for graduates and standardized test scores of newly enrolled students.
Students in the part-time program have their courses scheduled during evenings and weekends, which allows for part-time students to work during the daytime. A very flexible program, students can dictate the number of courses they enroll in during each 10-week quarter.
The part-time curriculum begins with a prerequisite quantitative methods course, followed by a core curriculum consisting of seven core classes, up to four of which can be waived based on experience or comparable class work. All students then complete a Business Ethics course and a Global Perspective requirement.
Students then select five of eight disciplines to pursue, which include accounting, economics, finance, human resources and employee relations, information systems management, marketing, management and operations management. The remainder of the curriculum is fulfilled with three or four elective courses and a concluding integrative Capstone Experience.
In addition to the part-time program, Quinlan also offers a full-time degree as well as an Intercontinental MBA and Executive MBA programs.
