Ivey Receives Globally Recognized Award for Innovative Career Management

Career management programming at Western University’s Ivey Business School was recently recognized on the global stage. Long considered one of the best programs in Canada, Ivey’s Career Management group received the bronze medal in Nurturing Employability at the Wharton-QS Stars ReImagine Education Awards. The award recognized Ivey’s innovation, forward thinking and progressive career management programming.

In a recent press release, Ivey Associate Dean Mark Vandenbosch spoke about the award. “We are truly honored to receive this award in such good company,” he said. “The objective when reinventing career management was to give Ivey students the best opportunity to make the desired shift in their career path. To do this it was important to shift the career management team from an office at the end of the hall to fully-integrated ‘personal trainers.’”

The award acknowledges only the best career management programs aimed at ensuring students meet and exceed their employment goals and opportunities. The bronze medal affirms Ivey’s position as a globally elite school in the eyes of employers and applicants. Ivey is a place where students can not only develop their skills but leave with a career.

Unlike many other schools and programs that focus solely on helping students with the functional aspects of career management, at Ivey, career management is a dynamically integrated force in the fabric of the school’s MBA programming. It starts with the admissions process and results in the highest employment rates and starting salaries of any business school in Canada.

Ivey’s career management programming is a significant part of each student’s journey to success. It includes connecting with students during admissions and then throughout their schooling (including up to 88 hours of tutorials and clinics). Ivey also hosts unique events such as Emerald Inc. and Get Connected, which provide formal introductions to the job market.
