Rotman School Welcomes 3 Business Executives

The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto has always been known for its world-renowned faculty and its rankings as one of the best business schools in Canada. To keep up its stellar reputation, Rotman is welcoming three new seasoned executives with experience as entrepreneurs and in the financial services sector.

Mitchell Goldhar

Mitchell Goldhar has been appointed an Adjunct Professor. He’s the founder of SmartCentres, which has developed more than 250 shopping centres across Canada over the past 21 years. Recently, he converted SmartCentres into SmartREIT—one of Canada’s largest real estate investment trusts worth approximately $8.4 billion. He’ll bring his experience in the real estate industry and real estate development to the Rotman School. Already, he has taught a popular MBA elective at Rotman.

David Scrymgeour

David Scrymgeour has also been appointed an Adjunct Professor. Since March 2014, he has served as an Executive in Residence in the Rotman Commerce undergraduate program. His role was to support students in pursuing their entrepreneurial goals. He has also taught a fourth-year Rotman Commerce course on “The CEO’s Toolkit.” His experience includes working at General Motors and IBM before starting his own consulting and entrepreneurial projects. He’s a founder and owner of an information management company and has also founded two skills training businesses.

Dr. Jun Yuan

Dr. Jun Yuan has been appointed as an Executive in Residence. His role will be to support the Rotman School’s programs and initiatives particularly in the areas of risk management. He’ll play a fundamental role in the new Master of Financial Risk Management program. His experience includes his role as the Director of Quantitative Risk Analytics at the Royal Bank of Canada, where he leads a team to conduct risk analysis for Capital Markets. He also has experience with cross asset classes including Interest Rates, FX, and Equity to Credit.
