Gies College of Business iMBA Program Structure

The part-time Online MBA program at the University of Illinois Gies College of Business, known as the iMBA, takes between 23 and 36 months to complete. Students in the program complete programs through Coursera and through the University of Illinois, which features case studies, individual and group assignments, and more. At a minimum, students must complete six specializations in order to earn the degree. There are no travel requirements during any part of the program, making it one of the few AACSB-accredited Online MBAs in the world that is 100 percent digital.

Curriculum

The program is broken down to four separate core elements: Strategic Leadership & Management; Managerial Economics and Business Analysis; Value Chain Management; and Financial Management. Within these four core elements, students complete three individual courses and a capstone project. Within the program, students must complete six specializations, out of the following options: Strategic Leadership & Management; Managerial Economics and Business Analysis; Value Chain Management; Financial Management; Global Challenge in Business; Innovation; Digital Marketing; and Business Analytics.

Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid

The current tuition cost of the University of Illinois Online MBA program at the Gies College of Business is $21,384, which comes to $297 over 72 credits. Federal and private loans may be used to fund one’s education.

Admissions

In order to apply to the iMBA program, students must have earned an accredited four-year undergraduate degree in the U.S., or an international equivalent, while maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0. Applicants must have at least three years of prior work experience. GMAT/GRE scores are suggested, but not required.

In addition, applicants must submit:

• An online application
• Official transcripts
• One essay
• Three letters of recommendation
• TOEFL/IELTS test scores (if necessary for non-English speaking applicants)
• A $70 (domestic) or $90 (international) application fee

Application deadlines are as follows:

Priority Round One – July 12, 2019 (no application fee, no enrollment deposit required; option to begin in August)
Priority Round Two – Sep. 13, 2019 (no enrollment deposit required; option to begin in October)
Priority Round Three – Nov. 22, 2019
